About Our Senior Assisted Living in Willards

Chesapeake Manor Assisted Living is a family-owned and operated brother and sister team, having transferred their learning experiences from caring for their own grandparents, then to care for others’ Grandparents. Through these events, Steven Bloyd and Pam Schaffer discovered their deep commitment and passion to care for seniors.

Today, with over 20 years of skilled experience caring for the elderly, they are realizing their dreams of providing excellent care in an elegant environment at Chesapeake Manor. Steven and Pam would like to invite you to visit this spectacular home and find out more about all the wonderful things happening at Chesapeake Manor Assisted Living. Please feel free to call or email at any time.

Our Facility’s Rich History

Chesapeake Manor Assisted Living was originally the private residence of Lula B. and Paul F. Richardson. Since the 1970’s the Richardsons enjoyed many years here in the home’s peaceful, natural setting. Mrs. Richardson’s love of gardening can be seen everywhere as the seasons change and splashes of color paint the grounds with blooming flowers and beautiful shrubs.

Lula Richardson was a loved elementary school teacher in Wicomico County for many years, beginning her career in the Green Branch one-room school north of Willards.

Mr. Richardson was a businessman and also partnered with his brother Devner in the P & D Richardson Lumber Mill, now Cropper Bros. Lumber Co. here in Willards.
