At the most fundamental level, assisted care provides basic support for activities of daily living, mainly in the area of bathing but extending to other kinds of help as needed. The level of assisted care is built to offer both freedom and the assurance of help to residents who aren’t coping with memory loss and are physically independent — able to walk freely or remain mobile with a wheelchair or walker. Caregivers can also provide medication management and basic medical monitoring such as blood sugar readings.

Residents with mobility issues and physical disabilities can avail themselves of our higher level of assisted care. Here, caregivers provide support for overall mobility and a wide range of daily living activities that include bathing and grooming, dressing and undressing, toileting and transferring to or from a bed or wheelchair. They also provide close monitoring for any chronic conditions, medication assistance and help with accessing other needed forms of rehab and health care.

For those with early-stage memory loss, caregivers at this level of assisted care are also trained to help with memory-related activities and needs, including activities to help bolster communication. In this way, our higher levels of assisted care can also serve as a transition to more specialized memory care when the time comes.

Residents with moderate to severe memory loss — from dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or other factors — get the help they need in our specialized memory care unit. Here, professional caregivers are specifically trained to conduct an extensive range of memory care activities and therapies, as well as comprehensive medical monitoring and daily living support. The ultimate goal is to offer validation, understanding and empathetic care for residents coping with memory loss and to provide them with relaxation, comfort and security in a homelike environment.
